On July 29th, 2018, Lombok was struck by a series of eight powerful earthquakes, beginning with a magnitude of 6.4 on the Richter scale and followed by subsequent quakes on August 5th at 7.0, August 9th at 6.2, August 17th at 6.7, and August 19th with magnitudes of 5.4, 6.5, and 6.9. Additionally, approximately 1,030 aftershocks ranging from magnitudes of 4 to 6 have resulted in over 500 fatalities and thousands of injuries, with the affected receiving treatment across various hospitals. The Indonesian government and citizens have rallied to provide aid through numerous community initiatives. The devastation includes 71,937 homes and 65 mosques completely demolished.

However, I have personally observed that aid distribution is not always equitable or prompt. Currently, many communities and the government are focusing donations on areas frequently featured on television, such as Tanjung and Bayan in North Lombok. Meanwhile, eastern regions like Sambelia, Pringgabaya, and Pohgading are neglected. These areas have not been reached by organizations, and the residents are often overlooked in donation efforts.

Additionally, there is a need for used clothing donations, which can be mailed to the address provided below. It is important to label packages with 'PRAY FOR LOMBOK':
